Cognition Studio, Inc. (“Cognition,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through cognitionstudio.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
It applies to visitors to our website and to people who contact us or apply for a role through it. It does not cover the work we perform for clients under separate agreements.

Information you give us. When you use a form on our site, we collect what you submit:
Information we collect automatically. We use Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics tool that measures site traffic in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites. Our hosting and forms provider, Netlify, also keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
Our site does not use advertising cookies or other non-essential tracking cookies, and our analytics does not use cookies at all. We use only the technologies strictly necessary to operate the site. Pages that embed content from other services, such as an embedded Google Map, may be subject to that provider’s own cookies and practices, which we do not control.
We use your information to respond to your inquiry, evaluate your application, operate, secure, and improve our website, and meet legal obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis for processing (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on your consent, our legitimate interest in responding to you and running our business, taking steps at your request before entering an agreement, and compliance with law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the site and our business — Netlify for hosting and forms, and Plausible for analytics — and only as needed to perform those services; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; and in connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition.
We operate in the United States, and your information is processed here. If you contact us from outside the United States, including from the EU or UK, you understand that your information will be transferred to the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. We retain inquiry messages and job-application materials for twelve months, unless a longer period is required by law or you ask us to delete them sooner.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. To make a request, email privacy@cognitionstudio.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We do not believe the California Consumer Privacy Act currently applies to us based on our size, but we extend these choices to California residents as a matter of practice. You may request to know, access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email privacy@cognitionstudio.com. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Our website is intended for a professional audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our site links to and embeds content from other sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
