Cognition Studio is a boutique agency positioned to offer design, interaction, and biocommunication expertise to leaders in life sciences, healthcare, and global health.
We’re seeking a lead designer to join our team. A lead designer is responsible for conceptualization and design of solutions to their completion. Like all designers on our team, you’ll be brought into a broad range of projects and expected to work in a variety of mediums. However, expertise in interaction design, visual design, ux design, and/or product design is a must, and experience in global health is a plus!
In most client engagements, a lead designer will help define and lead the work of a team which could include other designers, developers, illustrators, animators, writers, etc. at various level of project scales from short engagements to helping lead programs. In other cases, lead designers won’t lead other team members but are designated “lead” because of their experience and authority in design decision-making.
Areas of work may include: UX design, research and strategy, product design, visual design, interaction design, service design, communication design, across a range of channels but, especially digital interaction and information.
The ideal candidate for this role is exceptionally creative, visual, simultaneously systems and human-oriented, and passionate about design and craft. They are able to communicate, defend, and build consensus around design direction, and help define and drive areas of the experience with a sense of passion and ownership.
