Cognition Studio was fortunate to have a solo show entitled code *assemblages of knowledge transfer at the Esvelt Gallery in Pasco, WA from November 5 to December 6, 2012.

This installation represents our visual solutions (i.e., certified medical illustration, information design and visual communication design) with the goal of creating a compelling and colorful experience. Given that the gallery is in an academic campus, the design of the show was focused on creating an educational rich experience, welcoming students and faculty into our world of medical visual communication.

Two details highlighted in the show's title are code and knowledge transfer:

Code is something we all live by. It's also a means by which we store, transfer, translate or communicate something from one form(at) into another. For Cognition Studio, our code is to educate and create knowledge transfer through our visual solutions.

Knowledge Transfer seeks to organize, create, capture or distributes information and ensures it is available for future users. Evidence-based medicine and the movement towards efficacy in health care practices have sparked a renaissance in the study of knowledge utilization/implementation (KU/I).

At Cognition Studio, we believe the biomedical community needs well designed, scientifically accurate, visual communications that make complex procedures, services and products understandable, helping to bring new ideas, practices or technologies into consistent and appropriate use in a clinical setting. Our code is to create knowledge transfer through visual storytelling igniting KU/I.

Special thanks goes to Print NW for their dedication, impressive wide format printing team and customer service; to Mary Dryburgh, the Esvelt Gallery Coordinator, for the opportunity to show and assistance with the installation; and to our dedicated team at Cognition Studio — we're proud to work with your beautiful minds.
